Organosilicon is a new chemical material with excellent comprehensive performance. Daily chemicals and other fields. China's organosilicon industry started in the early 1950s, and has now developed into one of the few technologically-based national industries that rely on independent innovation in the domestic chemical industry. It has achieved impressive results both in technology and in scale. With remarkable achievements, a complete silicone industrial system covering silicone monomers, basic polymers and various end products has been established. In the past ten years, the average annual growth rate of my country's organic silicon material consumption is about 20%. The current production and consumption account for more than 40% of the global total, and it is expected to exceed 50% by 2018. China's position as a major producer and consumer of organic silicon will be further consolidated.

First, strengthen technological innovation and promote industrial upgrading. Guided by the market, based on development needs and common interests, with the goal of improving innovation capabilities, overcome a number of key technical problems that have long restricted the development of the industry, and seize the commanding heights of future technology and industrial development. At the same time, we should do a good job in energy saving and consumption reduction and comprehensive utilization of by-products, take the road of environmentally friendly and low-carbon development, and gradually realize the green production of the organic silicon industry.

Second, develop new materials and expand application fields. After a long period of rapid development, China's economy has entered a new normal. The organic silicon industry must speed up structural adjustment to keep up with the new pace of China's economic development. In addition to continuing to maintain the application of silicone in construction, textiles, automobiles, electronics, household appliances, medical and health care, and daily chemicals, attention should be paid to and the development of silicone materials in new energy industries such as LEDs, photovoltaic modules, electric vehicles, and 3D printing. Materials, wearable devices, mobile energy and other emerging industries, and open up new application fields for silicone materials.

Third, accelerate the development of alternative petroleum-based synthetic materials. China's dependence on foreign oil is close to 60%. The basic raw materials of organic silicon are silicon dioxide, industrial salt and coal, which are very rich in sources. As a substitute for petroleum-based synthetic materials, the advantages are very obvious, and it is expected to become the growth point of organic silicon materials in the future. In recent years, domestic enterprises have achieved good results in replacing synthetic rubber and resin with silicone rubber. For example, silicone rubber has occupied 60% of the market share in the field of building sealants; it has been widely used in heat-resistant materials, wires and cables, insulators, lightning arresters, etc.; . During the "13th Five-Year Plan" period, the development of high-performance silicone rubber should be strengthened, the mechanical properties of silicone rubber should be improved, the research on the blending and modification of silicone rubber and general-purpose rubber should be emphasized, new silicone materials should be developed, and the application fields should be expanded. It is estimated that the apparent consumption of synthetic rubber in my country will exceed 7.5 million tons in 2020. If 10% can be replaced by silicone rubber, it will add a huge market for organic silicon with an annual consumption of about 750,000 tons and more than 20 billion yuan.
